Terms of use

The service

Routus provides tools to create, share, sell and play interactive city routes and city escapes. We do our best to keep the platform available and secure, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability.

Your account

You are responsible for your account credentials and for what happens through your account. One account per person.

Maker content

Makers retain ownership of their routes, points and challenges. By publishing you grant Routus a licence to display and distribute that content on the platform. Public points and challenges can be reused by other makers as indicated in the product.

Content that infringes the rights of others, is misleading or unlawful, or sends players to dangerous or prohibited locations is forbidden. We may remove or hide content that violates these rules.

Purchases and payments

Prices are in euros and include VAT unless stated otherwise. Payments run through Mollie. After payment you get immediate access to the route; you thereby consent to immediate delivery of digital content and waive the right of withdrawal once you start the route.

For sales through Routus we withhold the platform fee applicable at that time; the remainder accrues to the maker.

Founding Maker

The Founding Maker title is granted personally, to a limited number of makers. For as long as you hold it, it gives you the Pro plan: every Pro feature and Pro's lower commission on your sales. If you already pay for an equivalent or higher plan, the title changes nothing about it.

The title is personal, non-transferable and free of charge. We may withdraw it in case of abuse or breach of these terms; your account then falls back to the free Maker plan. No right to compensation arises from the title ending.

Playing on location

Playing is at your own risk. Mind traffic and your surroundings, do not enter private property and follow local rules. Makers are responsible for a safe, accurate route; Routus is not liable for damage while playing, except in cases of our intent or gross negligence.

Partner deals

Partner deals (such as a free coffee) are an offer by the partner in question, while supplies last or up to the stated maximum. Routus is not a party to the redemption and offers no guarantee of availability.

Termination and changes

You can cancel your account at any time. We may restrict or terminate accounts for abuse or violation of these terms. We may amend these terms; for material changes we will inform you via the platform.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes will be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands.
